The file manager isn’t able to mount an ext4 drive unless run as root. Here’s a way to do so:
xubuntu@xubuntu:~$ sudo -s
root@xubuntu:~# exo-open --launch FileManager

Now you should have access to your drive. Please post a comment if you know of a way that doesn’t require running the file manager as root.
