Restore boot to Windows 10<\/strong><br \/>\nBoot the PC with a Ubuntu live CD\/USB and run boot-repair. Now your PC should boot directly to Windows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Restore the Ubuntu partition<\/strong><br \/>\nBoot with a Ubuntu live drive. Apparently testdisk will restore the ability to boot to Ubuntu but remove the ability to boot to Windows. So I used parted.<br \/>\nTo find out where the lost partition starts and ends:<br \/>\n<code>sudo parted \/dev\/sda unit s print<\/code><br \/>\nThen to restore it:<br \/>\n<code>sudo parted<br \/>\nunit s<br \/>\nrescue<\/code><br \/>\ninput start &amp; end and see if it finds partition<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. <a href=\"http:\/\/howtoubuntu.org\/how-to-repair-restore-reinstall-grub-2-with-a-ubuntu-live-cd\">Restore Grub 2<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was running Ubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7 in dual boot.
